A Study on the Projection of Long-Term Care for the Disabled in Korea

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to provide various need prospecting models for establishment of the disabled long-term care system in Korea. Denfinitons of long-term care need include disabiliyt degree(i.e. disablities of ADL, IADLA), service resource utilization, subjective helping demand, carer status, service use preference and economic status.
By secondary data analysis of 2005 the national survey for the disabled, this study results are as follows.
Estimating results show prospections of long-term care need for the Disabled are 19.8~25% of total disabled people and 10.6~13.8% of below 65 years disabled people.
This study is to provide primary information for the practice model and finance of longterm care scheme.
